Devlog 1
During the game process and development, we all tried to work on unique parts of the game. For example, we picked certain parts of the game we each were gonna focus on, for example, someone chose art and animation, level design, UI, and more. Playtesting the game worked out decently, we each played the game to make sure we could complete specific parts and ensure certain mechanics function properly. Thankfully it went smoothly overall.
Playtesting/feedback:
During the second week of development, we were able to let other groups try out our game. They were able to download our windows build and try out our controls and movements. Some of the feedback we've gotten was that it was cool that we had a lot of features for the player, however, there should be a way to showcase these features. Specifically, people were saying that we had walljumping and sprinting, but there was no reason to use them. From this and playtesting games from other teams, we decided the best way to overcome this issue was to make our levels more complex and require certain skills to be used in order to pass the level. The level changes proved to be successful when we playtested our own game afterward. Many skills were not required which made the gameplay experience much more fun and complex.
